Dwarven Ancestor Worship

Dwarven Ancestor Worship, also simply known as Ancestor Worship, is a dwarven faith focused on the veneration of Ancestors who range from close local ancestors and heads of a clan's bloodline to ancient dwarves of great renown. Adherents believe that venerating said ancestors will help them emulate their great deeds in the modern day.    In ancient times, the dwarven people would worship their own gods, but that faith was largely abandoned during the Last Days of the Dwarovar, with most modern dwarves no longer seeing the divinity in these ancestral figures.

Cosmological Views

In addition to the literal ancestors of an individual dwarf, there are some famous figures known as 'Great Ancestors' which are universally revered across all dwarfkind. These Great Ancestors date to long before the Greentide and long before even the fall of the ancient Dwarven Dwarovar, and some like Dargin Everbeard are believed to have been a part of the original Dwarven Pantheon.    Gimron Lawgiver -    Hehogrim the Diligent -    Dagrin Everbeard -    Balgar the Builder -    Krummul Orcslayer -    Mellegar the Inventor -    Urist the Pioneer -
