Howard has silvery horn protruding from his head, as well as clawed feet and a long, thin tail. His tanned skin is flecked with silver scales. Because of his silver dragon heritage, he is not bothered by the cold.

Howard's parents died from an unknown ailment that ripped through their town when he was young. He was taken in by the church of Deneir and raised in Silverymoon's orphanages. He became a ward of the Vault when he was 5.
