The Third Incursion
Military action
The Nilroggi horde returns to find Candle'Bre's population widely scattered across a huge swath of territory...
The Third Insursion
This was a tooth and claw war for survival for three reasons.
First, King Haras was not a good leader or military commander. He simply did not know how to respond to the sudden threat that the re-emergence of the Nilroggi horde represented.
Second, the expansionist policies of his father meant that the population was strung out over a vast area, which, combined with the fact that early on, King Haras insisted that every square inch of his father's Kingdom be defended, made the task virtually impossible.
And third, because during key moments of the war, the Order of Mystics either didn't perform as promised or failed to show at all, which made the strains on the military even greater and caused the population as a whole to turn against the once relatively popular folk of the Witching Way.
