The Reign of King Nethior

• Coronated at the age of 29   • Although the First King is the most beloved leader in the nation’s history, King Nethior is the second. He was blessedly nothing like his father and in Nethior, the Kingdom found a sturdy and reliable leader who surrounded himself with smart, talented people.   • Under King Nethior’s leadership, the whole of the Basin was brought under the banner of Candle’Bre, peace was restored to the land and infi ghting between the Great Noble Houses was brought to a minimum. The Kingdom enjoyed nearly four decades of peace, which was undone by Nethior’s assassination at the beginning of the Onyx War.   • Nethior was assassinated at the age of 66, having ruled the Kingdom for 37 years.   King Nethior was really the glue that bound the whole of the Kingdom together.  He was exactly the ruler the Basin needed after his father's disastrous reign.  A keen mind guiding a steady hand, King Nethior was a pragmatist who brought back the First King's measured approach to progress and used it to good effect.
