The Thunder River wins the prize as the most grossly misnamed body of water in the Basin. Actually, it takes its name from the Thunder Hills, which is passes briefly on its way to Loch Laern. While the Tressemer River in the far west is an even slower moving body of water, this one takes a close second. Even better, the south bank lies inside Council territory and is well patrolled, making it an excellent spot for fishing and camping. The Thunder serves as the boundary between the Council Lands and The Vales. This river has no appreciable rapids anywhere on it.
