Kaxor

The Ferengi Commander Kaxor is 2IC of the USS Gogarg. Cheerful, devoted to Starfleet, but sees nothing wrong with fudging the rules a little and making some profit on the side as needed. A good officer, but probably not a good Starfleet officer. A sensible, solid First Officer who can be the "fun parent", so to speak, on the Gogarg. (alpha quadrant pg78)
Voice: nasal Ferengi, but nice and calm. He's there to soothe, and get things done around you if need be.
Knows: something is wrong with the captain, so he's running interference. Knows that she's making bad decisions so he's trying to countermand them without directly contradict her. He likes his nice easy lack of attention here, and doesn't want to lose that, but he also doesn't want the ship to fail. He knows they got the artifact and who knows about it. He's probably the person on the ship who knows the most accurate information about the situation.
Ally: most natural ally because he doesn't want to go through with this, wants to make sure the captain can have her mind saved, and that the crew comes through with their careers intact. If presented with an option that wouldn't also destroy a foreign artifact, he would absolutely go for it.
Choices: he doesn't want to rock the boat just in case someone falls out, but he's also an optimist. But a Ferengi one, where he's going to favor the opportunity that brings the most profit, so to speak.

Not demoted. Lands on his feet. Not sure precisely where he ended up, but I'm sure he's doing fine.
