Mountains of Protection

The mountains of protection are series of mountains in the center of Aragria and on the intersection of the Border Mountains, the Mountains of Hammerfort and the Sea Mountains. The largest of these mountains is known as The Protector.

On its sides both Calagorn and Mankell were built, the capital of Mogros and the largest city of the continent respectively. Inside huge caverns, dug by the dwarves the kingdom of Hammerfort once lay.

The mythological origin of the mountains, talks about them being thrown out of the sky onto the world, to seal a great evil underneath it. The mountains are said to have a amplifying effect on magic, making it ever so slightly more powerful the closer you are and extending the lives of the people that live around it.
