Sarilana

Called the "All-Knowing", though the name is a misnomer it is likely not far from the truth for Sarilana, Seraph of Obsession. Sarilana appeared during the latter half of the War of Setting Suns, joining the Red Queen alone despite the society she came from remaining neutral during the conflict. She is seen as the patron of sages, scholars, wizards, and anyone searching for answers.

Depiction

Sarilana is seen as a woman in long robes with flowing sleeves who stands or hovers slightly with arms outstretched to either side, each hand outstretched and holding a star or gemstone. She faces upward, toward the sky, another gem (or several) floats above her head. She is sometimes depicted as elven, and is believed to be either star or half-star elven.

History

Her place in history is not entirely known. There are stories about how Sarilana was a scholar who sought to learn all things, even being tutored by the Red Queen herself. There are also stories that claim Sarilana's first appearance was during an exceptionally difficult battle for the Trandrafian army in the west that was interrupted by a number of falling stars brought down by the mage. Arcanist historians both within and outside of Trandrafia are often skeptical of the truth of stories surrounding Sarilana and the people she came from. After all, in the midst of the Dearth, how could a wizard have existed in any significant form, let alone formulate and manifest the magic she is claimed to have wrought?
