Nelrithra
Seraph Nelrithra (a.k.a. the All-Seeing)
The Iron Seraph was the child of the Red Queen and King Consort Vaska, born some time during the end of the first campaign of the War of Setting Suns. Born blind, Nelrithra is able to able to see beyond the physical and proved invaluable at the start of the second conflict of the war when she was only a child. She has since been viewed as a patron of guardians, architects, sentries, and investigators.
Depiction
Nelrithra is often depicted in statuary or murals with the hands acting as a lamp for a flame. She is a woman with an iron mask covering her eyes or a helmet that extends to cover the eyes. She has long black hair streaked with and often fading in to red-orange and wears long robes with sleeves that cover all but her fingertips which are capped or have become iron. Between her hands, held one above and one below like a cage, is a yellow flame that she keeps contained, symbolizing chaos, and behind her is often depicted a partial halo or metal ring with several circular stones embedded into it.
History
Nelrinthra is said to have been born to Vaska and the Red Queen. Born blind, the child saw more than anyone else could see. Her sight gave her the means to be vigilant, protecting the borders of Trandrafia even as a child. It was Nelrithra who warned of an impending attack from both the elves and Eldermyst prior to the Withered Leaves Conflict, and her warning allowed forces from the east to intercept the elves who invaded Trandrafian lands prior to the final leg of the War of Setting Suns, preventing more damage from being done by the elven raiders who burned their way through the forests there while the main force of Trandrafia was still at war with the Serpents of Woe.
Associated Organizations
Unblinking Eye
Called the Order of Seraph Nelrinthra by its founders, the Unblinking Eye is an organization that operates independently of the Claret Covenant to hunt threats to nobles and peasants alike. The iron eye that acts as its symbol evokes the seraph of order: a steel eye, unable to be seen through but forever open and vigilant. Though they have become a welcome sight in many noble households and at political gatherings for their services, it is believed by some that the Covenant supports it only due to the support it gets elsewhere. The Eye has made itself a thorn in the side of the Covenant in several instances by attempting to - and sometimes doing so regardless of permission - include them in their investigations.
