Imperial Argent
A form of currency minted in the Holy Aestaran Empire. It was reminted in 847 MOR to depict the Empire's new divinity and outlook. One side of the coin is minted with the visage of their God-Emperor, Sigmund the Exalted, with the words "In His Name." On the other side is the crowned tree over a star, the emblem of Aestara, with the words "By His Blood".
Use
While used throughout the world as a form of currency, the argent is minted in the Imperial mainland and widely seen in regions it rules and once ruled, such as the imperial colonies in the Maelstrom Sea, Gaklin and the northern half of Lithria, and Light's Breach.History
It took the Empire a long while to consolidate a currency system after its formation, but after nearly 100 years of remnant fighting and treaties, the Empire created the standard currency for their realm, the argent. It has had many itterations over the Empire's over 600 years with different shapes or faces, words or images minted on the coins. It is only recently, with the technology for mass production of these coins available, that the Empire has decided to reclaim all the old coins they have and mint them anew.
Significance
While being one of the most common coins in the world, thanks to the Empire's extensive trade of platinum and propencity to remint foreign coins to their design, the new design of the coin marked the beginning of what the Aestaran Empire proclaims is the Age of Divinity, bearing the visage of their infalable God-Emperor on one side.
