The Silver Brand
The Silver Brand is an irritatingly difficult jumble to decipher, ranking among the more difficult guild emblems to decipher. It is however the guild which claims the honor of being the Retaliator's first, so there is a fortunate body of Terran literature on it which I have been able to draw from. At the core of the symbol is a stylized arch which might be dubbed an upwards chevron but is in fact meant to be the ear of a Fox-Wolf. Above arch is a circlet of interlocking blades which to my understanding has fluid meaning, with some sources referencing the strife of Hiber'Cale while others point to an analogue to the founding oaths of the guild. I have written an appendix on the subject of the countless sub-symbols which complicate the brand but I would like to highlight the latest layer of symbols. The sun of House Ailbe above a sunken sword having been reworked into the outer-edge of the interlocking blades. I theorize that these are in reference to the rise of the Primarch within the guild, although sources are stubbornly obtuse on the exact meaning.
The Silver Guild's Brand is usually woven onto the back of on a freshly crafted leather glove gifted from the party to an apprentice upon completion of their training. The weave is typically done in in dyed thread but wealthier or higher ranked Seekers often have it rewoven in silver wire, either being done at the command of the local Hearthmaster. Astartes have the material etched onto the back of their dominant gauntlet on ascension to the Legion, often accentuating it with silver-like fillings. This is done above a literal brand which is burned on the back of the aspirant's hand, which is stylized into a claw-like pattern.
