- Calengwag Year: 2.57 Terran Years.
- Ogre: A catch-all term for ancient automata which are found across the world, suffixes are attached to refer to major 'subspecies'.
- Ruin: Any settlement or ruin of the Fallen Ones, the largest and oldest of these are generally Void-Tainted although few are safe. While Voidspawn are their most iconic hazard, traps, navigational hazards and Ur-Beasts are incredibly common.
- Ruin-Tide: Refers to the local and unusually predictable warp-currents in the ruins around Calengwag.
- Low-Tide: The times during which a particular Void-Tainted Ruin's warp-currents is at their weakest and the likelihood of encountering Voidspawn is at its lowest. More importantly, warp phenomena are reduced enough that deeper regions may be more safely reached.
- High-Tide: The times during which the warp-currents within a Ruin are at their strongest, the likelihood of encountering Voidspawn is at their highest and many sections are often so hazardous as to become impassable.
- Treasure: Anything of value salvaged from a Ruin, ranging from archaeotech to valuable materials to old knowledge.
- Ur-Beast: A general term for creatures created by Treasures or perceived to be otherwise unnatural. Interestingly used for both Fauna and Flora (although there seems to be a greater reluctance to assign the term to latter). While rarely used, this term can be used as a slur to refer to those born of a Treasure or who are severely augmented. It generally implies a sort of mindlessness or cruelty.
- Void: A term that is generally used as a shorthand for the Void of Souls (the Warp) but is on rare occasions used to refer to the Void of Stars as well (the physical world).
- Voidbane: The Calengwag term for powerful Nulls or Blanks.
- Void-Tainted: Refers to things which are pulled heavily to one Void or the other to the point of losing humanity. It is predominately used to refer to corruption by the Void of Souls and is only used regarding the Void of Stars as a grave insult.
- Voidspawn: The Calengwag term for Daemons but more precisely refers to something born of (or perceived to be born of) one of the Voids without a component from the other. Could also apply to C'Tan theoretically.
- Whitesteel: A curious metal native to Calengwag which seems to be integrated into alot of their Void-reactive technology.
