Chapter 1 Getting to Know You
General Summary
Fall has just begun when our adventure starts. For purposes of clarity the real world dates in all adventure reports begin on Saturday, 17 December 2018 the corresponds to Luain, 4 Marta 1496 GA in Calandyrion's calendar.
Ren is a human, born and raised in Caesion. When word went out that President Penry was looking to create patrols to protect the citizens of Marganation Ren was sent to apply for the position by the Captain of the Day Guard one Martyn MacCoisten a of Champion of Caesion
Eddie Stone is a human born and raised in the agricultural and fishing community of Emona. Ever the restless soul Eddie was more interested in his music that farming or fishing. One day a traveling minstrel, a halfling named Geren Wenderfood, was hoping to get a gig at the town’s only tavern called “The Full Trout Pub discovered Eddie playing his lute. Geren saw potential in Eddie’s playing and sent him to the city of Caesion looking for work.
Merric Lightfoot is a Halfling born and raised just outside the Emerum city limits. His father was a soldier in the Akkalion army and his mother was a records keeper in the city. On the yearly “Clash Day” when soldiers tested themselves one against another for honor. Unfortunately, Merric’s father died that day leaving his mother bereft. In her mourning she cried for days and mumbled that her husband was killed at the direction of Emperor Yis Thiot. Shortly thereafter, Merric was contacted by a gnome by the name of Slepra and told to leave the city of Emerum because the Emperor Yis Thiot was looking for him for reasons unknown but not likely healthy for a young mad and told to go to Caesion and await contact by Ameny Penry and a job offer.

In Caesion, Marganation, Ren is called to speak with Captain of the Day Guard, Martyn MacCoisten who is a Champion of Caesion. Martyn tells Ren to apply for the upcoming job on patrol of Marganation as it will help further his career.
Meanwhile, Merric Lightfoot first meets Slepra Consbilick a Gnome, of unknown profession, in Emerum the capital city of Akkalion. Slepra tells Merric that staying in Emerum will be bad for his health. Slepra goes on to tell Merric that he is aware that there is work for an enterprising young man doing patrols for President Penry.
In another location, Eddie Stone meets Geren Wenderfoot, a Halfling entertainer traveling thru the village of Emona, located in Marganation. Geren suggests he head to Caesion and look for work there.
In closing, Ren, Merric and Eddie meet with President Penry in Caesion. Eddie and Merric are surprised to see Geren and Slepra in the company of the president all of whom are assessing the abilities of the group. In the end, Ameny offers them work as a Patrol Force. The job is to roam the land looking for suspicious activities and when possible deal with them. Alternatively, the patrol is to report back to the capital with any information they glean along the way.

This is a summary of how the characters began to know each other and how they came together as a team. This was accomplished in the very first session of my new group.
