Despite the history of Cairne and the way that magic has been demonized over the years, there is still a great romance to the stories of the old world and the magical wonders in contained, often these making their way into stories and songs spinning tales of mighty wizards that could move heaven and earth on a whim, masters of the worlds both seen and unseen alike and above all reproach. While for most these stories are little more then entertaining tales of the world long gone, for some it awakens something within them...a desire or passion that cannot be tamped out by the mere legality of the world. It is because of this, or perhaps just the drive for power itself that sets some on the path seeking to obtain this magnificent power for themselves, no matter what gets in their way.
