Dragoman of Renown
Based upon the characters connections and business dealings in this field, upon reaching 3rd level, they now make a residual income as long as they make a point to maintain their contacts once a month. This income fluctuates and is granted at a rate of 1d10 x 10 Sp a month, deposited in their bank or otherwise specified stash location. Additionally, the following bonuses are applied based on the character's ability to pass wares and information through the Wastes:
- The character may utilize their investigation skill at a +2 bonus when seeking information concerning trade or trade related goods.
- They can now carry up to twice your normal carrying capacity and have advantage on checks to hide your inventory.
- Additionally, they gain proficiency in Dexterity(Sleight of Hand) checks.
- The character may select an additional language from their continued dealings with other cultures.
Feet of the Envoy
At 3rd level, after choosing this Archetype, the character is known within backdoor dealings as a reliable courier, transferring goods of all kinds at breakneck speeds, avoiding danger, if possible, to deliver the packages they carry. When initiative is rolled, they can move up to their speed at the start of combat. This doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks.
Exit Strategy
By 7th level the character has become quite adept at their profession, and a good smuggler always has a way out, and as such the character may make an insight skill check at any place along the trade routes of Cairne to find or know of an alternative way out of a building, secret door, hidden room, etc. Beyond the trade routes, this ability is halved but the character may still attempt to search at advantage due to their intimate knowledge of such places. Also, the character may now add an additional 1d10 to their monthly income provided they have kept up with their contacts monthly.
Always Have a Plan
Upon reaching 11th level, the character has become a skilled player of the games and plots that ripple out through the wastes. An invaluable skill to maintain both life and profit at this level of involvement is to never get caught flat footed and to always be prepared. During any negotiations, the character is granted advantage in determining truth and intent. Furthermore, should negotiations take a turn for the worse, or the character be the target of any type of ambush or trickery, they gain advantage on their initiative roll allowing them to react quickly. Also, the character may now add an additional 1d10 to their monthly income provided they have kept up with their contacts monthly.
Contrabandist
When the character reaches 15th level, their skills as a master smuggler are well known throughout the wastes and the towns and cities that dot the lands. They gain the following benefits:
- They may now instead apply double their proficiency bonus to their Dexterity(Sleight of Hand) checks.
- When they use their Runner feature, they may also make a melee weapon attack against a creature at advantage, using a melee weapon they’re holding, but they must run by them while doing so.
- Utilizing their extensive knowledge of the lands and contacts, the character can find the location of a single illicit or luxury resource within the wastes provided it exists there. The item must still be purchased, stolen, or bartered for.
Void Baron
Empires are not always about races and territory. As the character reaches 15th level, they have begun to amass such a large collection of trade partners, contacts, and inside knowledge of the Outland trade systems, that they have become a major player in the industries therein. The character may now call upon up to 5 level 1 "employees" to perform simple tasks for them, such as observation, following, information gathering, kidnapping, stealing, threatening, etc. While these "employees" are loyal, they are paid hirelings and their loyalty is based upon how they are treated, the character's social skills, and how well the character chooses to pay them, (this is at the DM's discretion). The character now has an addition 2d10 income added to what they are already amassing, once again provided they are keeping up with their contacts at least once a month. Finally, the character may now, if they so choose, hire a lieutenant to be their right hand.
