Defiler

The Mentalist is, as was proven by the emergence of the first one, one of the most powerful aspects of the mutations caused by the Blight's influence on the world. While some take this power and seek to understand it and forge an empathic bond with their fellows inhabitants of Cairne, there are those that instead use it as a sheer force of domination against hose that might oppose them. This can be a terrifying premise, the idea that another person can dominate all those around them and by doing so achieve tremendous power over the world around them. The Defiler seeks to gain the upper hand in any given situation by sheer force of will, controlling and directing the actions of the creatures they encounter with their superior mental ability.
