Eleanor Kelso
Eleanor Rogan "Rogue" Kelso (16 May, 118 – 2 August 210) was an Ardunnan writer, stateswoman, revolutionary, and fighter ace. She was an outspoken women's rights activist, and helped found the first all-female airplane regiment, The Red Witches, during the The Ardunan Revolution.
Early Life
Childhood
Kelso was born to a middle class family in Mulder, where her father, Dr. Willem Kelso, worked as a surgeon. She would spend most summers at her grandparents' country home near Marpool, where she got the chance to experience early aviation showcases firsthand. Kelso would develop a lifelong love for aviation from attending these showcases and speaking to pilots. In her teens, she was taught to fly a plane by aviation pioneer Sallie Hunter, who counselled Kelso to pursue pilot certification. However, due to pressure from her family and the lack of piloting jobs available to women at the time, Kelso went on instead to study at Caerun Royal Academy.Education and Early Work
While attending university, Kelso would often try to get around the strict gender divisions in campus by dressing as a man to attend engineering classes, which were at the time part of the male-exclusive curriculum. She also maintained a close correspondence with Sallie Hunter, so she could cross-reference her studies with practical mechanical knowledge of aircraft. This self-driven attitude caught the attention of some of her teachers, who introduced Kelso to the CRA Women's Council, where she would begin a long career of political organizing. Throughout her years at the Royal Academy, Eleanor would continue to spend her summers in Marpool, honing her flying skills.Mental characteristics
