Spiritroot Pool

Tucked deep within Tarnith’s ancient forest glades, the Spiritroot Pool is a tranquil, mirror-like basin surrounded by weeping trees whose roots dip gently into the water. The pool’s surface is so still it reflects the stars even in daylight, and its waters are said to hold the essence of Tarnith’s ancestral spirits. Pilgrims come here seeking guidance, healing, or visions—though none leave unchanged.
The Druids of the Veil believe the pool is fed by an underground spring that flows through the bones of the land itself, carrying with it memory, sorrow, and wisdom. At night, soft lights drift just beneath the surface—many believe them to be the souls of the lost, or the thoughts of the dreaming forest itself.

Spiritual Significance

The waters of Spiritroot Pool are used in rituals of Ancestral Communion, Soul Rebirth, and Oathbinding Visions. Druids drink from the pool before dream rites or funeral journeys, believing it opens the mind to forgotten truths or buried spirits.
Legend tells of druids emerging with white eyes and new voices—said to carry the echoes of those long gone. Some rituals involve whispering a name into the pool before drinking, to summon a spirit's presence.

Notable Features

The Whisperbanks

A ring of smooth stones where druids sit to meditate or whisper into the water. It’s said that no echo returns from the pool, only understanding.

The Heartroot Tree

An ancient tree with gnarled white bark that leans over the pool. Ribbons, charms, and ancestor tokens hang from its limbs. Some claim it “weeps” at night.

The Dreamcurrent

A subtle flow beneath the pool’s surface that never ripples. Those who float in it while asleep sometimes awaken with prophetic visions—or not at all.

Hazards

Dreaming Depths – Prolonged immersion or unblessed use of the pool can lead to spiritual dissociation, possession, or permanent vision-trance.
