Durand Meadoworb
Originally from Tergaron, Durand has known the priesthood from a young age. As a boy, he entered in to the temple of Shutrines as an acolyte. He has spent many years studying and praying to Tailer. He would occasionally venture into town on temple duties. One fateful day however would change Durand's path. While on an errand along the rocking river with other members of the temple to collect items. The group was beset by 2 Basilisk, and almost immediately a full third of the group was turned to stone in a instant. Gripped with fear and anger, he fought the creatures with nothing but a blunt piece of timber. Eventually, Durand dispatched the monstrosities but his party had all been turned in statues the horror and torment etched into their faces. He prostrated himself, beseeching Shutrines to intercede and save his comrades. A raspy, cold voice responded to his cries, "Save them I will…… in return you will strike out and preach my divinity to all. These are my terms". With tears, in his eyes he replied the request of his god. With the return of his group, they ventured back to Langdale. From there, the Temple equipped him both in iron and faith. "Go forth to Northon, and spread Shutrines word as she commanded" the High Priest Luxian said. "One day I know you will be able to return to us". Durand then left to start his pilgrimage in the name of his God.
