Curse (or blessing) of the Were-Ravens

Corvithropy is a unique form of shapeshifitng that grants afflicted individuals the ability to change between three distinct forms: their original humanoid form (such as human, elf, dwarf, etc.), a hybrid form, and a full raven form. These individuals are commonly known as wereravens. Unlike other lycanthropic conditions, wereravens tends to be more secretive, cunning, and less prone to aggression.
The transformation process of corvithropy can be quite horrifying to observe. The arms stretch and bend to take the shape of wings, while dark feathers burst through the skin. The feet become sharp and grow angular claws and the mouth elongates to become a beak. The transformation can be extremely painful for those who try to resist it.
More experienced corvithropes who have embraced their nature, can hone their shapeshifting abilities to the point of mastery. They can selectively alter their features in hybrid form, retaining some traits of their original body. For example, some may choose to keep their humanoid face while still sprouting wings, avoiding the full transformation into a bird-like creature.
