The elusive Goldfinch seemed to be the real power behind Malcolm and the distribution of the plague-ridden orbs throughout Rialdon. Evidence of her interference could be found in letters and missives scattered throughout bases dedicated to the cult of Seudihr and its ushers.
The Goldfinch and General Irador appeared to have an mildly antagonistic relationship while he was stationed in Jarrow. Whether that was because she felt him an equal, or assumed protection of a greater patron, was unclear.
The Dragon Punchers captured the Goldfinch while she engaged in an ill-fated trip to clear out the late dragon’s lair. Dena, as they learned her name to be, was primarily an agent of a woman named Velia, one of the Ushers based out of Corveth. While Dena was not necessarily fully in support of the Ushers’ mission, she was completely devoted to Velia to the very end.
The Goldfinch was executed by Jinn in a makeshift antimagic cell at Iriswood University.
