Springs Dawn

A city founded millennia ago by druids using and ancient and powerful magic. They did not use lumber or stone, instead they crafted their walls and buildings out of livings plants. They grew the walls from saplings to trees that stand side by side 100 feet tall. The homes they lived in were made of leaves and vines, that they nurtured to create natural biological light and pleasant aromas. They could grow a fantastical mushroom system underground that would create a vast glowing chamber, in which they crafted into temples.   Unfortunately the magic that the ancient druids used has been lost to history. While the walls stand strong as ever, many over the other structures they grew have disappeared with time. Only a few of the houses or temples they lived in still stand. most of these belong to the riches people on the city. Nowadays there is a mixture of the old druid infrastructure along with new buildings made of lumber and stone.

Government

The Masked Lords rule over the city. They make and interpret the laws. They levy and use the taxes of the city. And they see to its defense in times of danger. 20-25 masked lords are in the counsel at any given time. When the are chosen for the council they don a mask that not only hides their face, but their voice as well. This way they remain anonymous. Every three years there is a new open lord appointed. Amoung the masked lords one is chosen to represent them publicly. They are the only one to take off their mask.

Defences

The trees that make up the walls have bark harder than stone. Their roots can sense dangers to the wall and will strike out at anyone who poses a threat. The roots will grab the offender and drag them underground to suffocate.

Industry & Trade

Many saps can be gather from the various trees within the city. These are made into the most delicious syrups and candies. They are also used in many potions and medical salves. There are many beekeepers in the city who make the most delicious honey in all of Lexonia.

Architecture

Most of the buildings were made by planting seeds in the outline of the walls and rooms. As the trees would grow the druids would shape and bind them into whatever building they desired. The trees would stay rather small. They would let vines grow naturally on these foundation trees to strengthen it. from these vines they would grow the interiors. Leave would be crafted into furniture and flowers to decorate the walls and make pleasant aromas. Legend has it they could even make bio-luminescent flowers.   As of today many of the ancient buildings have been lost to time. of those that remain much of the original design is no longer present. Most often the tree foundation is there but the vines along with their leaves and flowers are gone. The interiors are now usually outfitted with plank or stone floors and regular furniture.
