Divine Symbols & Sigils

The sudden appearance of the sun in the midst of a storm, or over a battlefield, is said to be one of The Praetorian’s good omens. Universally, the arrival of light on a dreary, dim, or dark scene is evidence that The Praetorian is with his servants wherever they go, even in the darkest of tombs or blackest of dungeons.

Tenets of Faith

Alleviate suffering wherever you find it   As a god, The Praetorian has no need for or interest in wealth, power, or offerings from mortals. The only sincere and proper way to serve The Praetorian is to provide aid and comfort to mortals. He calls upon his clerics to feed the starving, bring water to those dying of thirst, cure the sick, and heal the wounded. As opposed to evil and corruption as The Praetorian may be, he places the needs of the innocent first and foremost. Alleviating suffering must come first; there will always be time to smite evil later.   Bring The Praetorian’s light into places of darkness, showing kindness, mercy, and compassion    Clerics of The Praetorian often pass where others refuse to enter. They are called by their faith to bring The Praetorian’s radiant light everywhere. They illuminate the darkness with His light, giving hope to the good and bringing fear to the wicked. Bringing The Praetorian’s light thus serves two purposes.   Combat evil in all its forms    The Praetorian stands as the foremost champion in the fight against evil, corruption, and despair. The chief tenet of the faith is simple: evil must be confronted and eliminated. The Praetorian stands at the forefront in the fight against evil, corruption, and despair. He represents the ceaseless eternal struggle against the darkness; he never surrenders, and his followers are held to the same expectation.   Offer mercy but once   If an individual receives mercy and then proceeds to commit an evil deed, he does not receive a third chance to repent. Any person who commits evil after receiving mercy deserves full and swift punishment. The Praetorian’s clerics can go from caring and compassionate individuals to deliberate avengers in short order.   Undeath is an abomination of life   Clerics of The Praetorian are encouraged to destroy undeath at all costs.
