Cadriel

In the beginning, Cadriel was a world inhabited only by plants and animals. Giant magical life forms ruled the land without civilization. One day, the arcane energy came together and a life was spawned from thin air. This being, was called Ahena, or the Allmother. For sometime, Ahena lived alone in this world with the animal and plant life until one day the arcane energy seemingly came together once again to make the being known as the Allfather, Renas. Together, the pair created other gods, the sun and moon.. and lastly created people.   For the next few hundred years, Ahena, Renas and their new creations helped to create a proper civilization. These early people- now known as the Caluc people- eventually expanded out all over the world where they would settle down and evolve, bringing the creation of new races such as Humans, Elves, Gnomes and many more. As mankind continued to flourish, Ahena and Renas decided to create even more gods to watch over the lands in their place, these new gods also led to the creations of even more exotic races like Tieflings, Dragonborns, Tritons and more.   Eventually, Ahena and the other gods decided to break up the lands and rule over different territories. They turned the land into two large landmasses, the northern continent becoming what is now Idora and the Southern continent became Seo’Kiray. As the gods claimed their land, others were unlucky and left out of the picking. This sent them into a petty jealous rage, this rage then built up until the gods became corrupted and waged war against all of Cadriel. This battle went on for 300 years and the aftermath left the original land of Cadriel destroyed. Ahena, Renas and the other gods were able to take over the corrupted gods and send them to their eternal prison. A plane known as the Rift.   As the imprisoned gods spent their days in the Rift, the continuous exposure to the arcane energy forced the prisoners to endure horrible transformations turning them into abominations and monstrosities. These transformations caused many of those left in the rift to forget who they originally were, many forgot their original powers and names adopting new identities over time. However, Unknown to Ahena and the other gods, some of these transformed gods managed to escape   Slowly, Cadriel began to recover and formed into the world as we know it with the lands now divided into 7 main territories that are watched over by the gods. Those who escaped the Rift worked in the shadows where over time they gained followings across the new Cadriel, however, their powers weakened significantly. But now, it seems that those gods who had been wronged might be seeking some revenge.
