Arc One: Session Five

General Summary

When Avery wakes up, they see someone they have never seen before sitting on their bed. The spirit introduces himself, as well as he can while apparently not remembering his name. Avery names him Sting and introduces him to Liz and Cal as the two wake up. While Liz and Cal get coffee upstairs, Sting fills Avery in on how little he actually knows about his situation. He's been in the dagger the entire time, their magic woke him up, and Avery isn't Petra or his Chico - people he does not remember, but believes he will when he wakes up more.
Maud tells the group someone else found the missing dog. Despite giving the client's name not being in Maud's job description with this one, Cal manages to convince her to share it. She has them sign a contract saying they won't tell that she did it. The client is Suki Rockatan. Cal goes off to check in on the dog thing on their own. Cal calls Suki and pretends to be a pet journalist wanting to write an article about what happened. While Suki has to discuss things with her au-pair Leighton King, she is excited to do it. They send their questions and get answers, finding that someone named Miss Peterson found Hiro. Before Cal can return to the others, they find a spider. Instead of killing it, they put it outside, frustrating themselves but fighting their cruel instincts.
Sting lets Avery know that they managed to banish the spiders from that area last night with the dagger, and goes into a bit about basic magics. Avery goes into the books again to search for more helpful resources now that they know they have their own magic, while Sting attempts to chat up Liz.
