Brumia

Impossibly huge mountains, reaching up into the skies, surround the world on all sides, encompassing it in a seemingly impassable barrier. Incomprehensibly massive waterfalls cascade down the other side of these mountains, forming the Great Flowing River of All Existence, flowing down from the Divine Lagoon where the Deities reside. Brumia is a world of contradictions, full of blossoming exploration and social advancements in some regions, and equally as provincial and unsophisticated in others. Some larger nations are looking out beyond the wide and imposing seas to faraway lands, hoping to build empires that will reign until the sun is swallowed by darkness. Others are content with their place in the world, and are focused on improving their ways of living for the sake of future generations. Meanwhile, on other remote small continents, nomadic tribal cultures exist in harmony with nature and with each other, advanced in the ways of social interaction but unprepared for the appearance of single-minded aggressors.

The magical powers lent by the once present, now absent deities of Brumia are beginning to dwindle, and the great minds of the world are struggling to invent new technologies to take the vital place that magic previously held. Some regions of Brumia, in which the presence of the Prime Nine deities were the strongest, are still concentrated with magical essence. This can be seen in the nature and residents inhabiting the area. Other regions have slowly become more mundane, thus making up for their lack of magic by way of other technological advancements.

Other landmasses and societies exist across Brumia, but have yet to be discovered by so-called modern society. Brumia is growing ever smaller, as new economic and political relationships are being forged and broken. Some nations are on the rise, and others may be on the precipice of an unforeseen collapse. Inhabitants of this constantly evolving world face an uncertain future, a future that is still being written by those who chose to be authors of their own destinies.
