Ictalgor Glixagleb
The ever-curious Ictgalgor is a being from the far off planet of Quastratra. He shows a boundless enthusiasm for learning, and appears game for participating in any activity he deems an educational opportunity, or at least fun. He appears to be the first member of his species (simple amorphous life-forms called Plasmoids) to have developed true sapience, and thus has spent his existence overcome with the great questions of living.
"Who am I"
"Why am I"
"How can I be sure I am?"
"What the hell do any of those questions mean?"
"Why am I the only one this is bothering?"
Lonely Quastratra appeared not to have any answers for poor Ictalgor, until his meanderings led him to the discovery of an abandoned wizard's tower.
The tower was apparently abandoned by its previous occupants for reasons unknown without bringing anything with them, and so to Ictalgor's wonderment was full to bursting with a library full of books and scrolls, a laboratory full of tools and magical reagents, and many other wonderous things that piqued the young blob's fascination, such as clothes.
Spending years carefully studying the materials left behind, Ictalgor slowly began to comprehend the meanings of letters and words, the uses and properties of herbs and minerals from faraway realms, and finally, the secret arcane machinations of the universe. By the time he was discovered, alone in the wizard's tower in faraway Quastratra, he was already a fledgeling wizard.
