Founded on the Ashes of a legendary Phoenix, the Eternal Flame marks the Ancient Kingdom's Captial where the Invincible Hektor Finally planted his Lance. It was from these divine ashes that Hektor made a vow to his knights, a dream to create a Kingdom beautiful enough to land him a place amongst the gods themselves. Coming from anyone besides Hektor, this level of vain, over-ambitious nonsense would be seen as Foolhardy at best or a Blasphemous display of ego at worst, but for reasons lost to time, Hektor's unwavering charisma was able to assemble a small order of knights to claim the eastern chunk of Niflheim.
With no heir of his own, Hektor's Will was inherited by the descendants of his squire, the Durandal Family, who would work tirelessly to curate and expand the land of the Phoenix into the Cultural and militant Superpower it is today. A nation of impeccable beauty, passion runs deep within the summer court and the people are as warm and temperamental as the flames the country embodies. With the Countries' Mythical origins as the creation of great (if a bit vain) heroes from the silver age of gods, it's of little surprise to see its effect on the Court's Culture, most artwork in the nation is made to reflect Heroes and myths of the past, elaborate and colorful tapestries depicting famous figures like King Roland in battle are a common subject of inspiration as are any of Charlemange's noble paladins who's names serve as a form of classification for the Summer Knights.
Despite its strength waning somewhat over the centuries since its founding as the nation's priorities shifted, the Empire remains one of the most powerful forces on the continent. The Imperial army is known to train and utilize powerful mages specializing in fire magic derived from the Primordial flames of the phoenix mixed with heavy, elaborately designed armors befitting the grandest of knights. It was in the very halls of the Summer Court that the first fireball was cast by human hands.
As a sharp contrast to the nation's Northern Neighbors, most of the Summer Court, having once been a major volcanic hotspot with connections to the Primordial Flame, the Ashen Rich Soil of the Summer Court provides a bountiful harvest for its nation and cements it's status as the continent's Biggest Trade Hub, nearly half of Niflheim's food supply either comes from or passes through the Summer borders.
