Tengu

History

The Tengu are native to the Impesta region, having long ago lived in various wooden settlements across the region, there society suffered a lot of infighting and stagnation. Many settlements would be build up only to be abandoned a few generations later in search of greener pastures or in order to take over a rival settlement. This was mostly due to a very hierarchical socital structure with succession based of of birth but not absolute. In this system the son of a former leader had as much claim as his daughter, brother, sister, father and mother, the only thing that mattered is how closely related they where. This combined with Tengu's relativly short lifespan caused many problems.

With the advent of the Ygorgi manny saw a way to escape this flawed structure and a way to settle there wonderlust. over the years manny settlements and tribes joined the Ygorgi, with the some of them eventualy leaving and joining the many other cultures in Impesta they ventured across. Any further Tengu settlements would usualy eventualy join with another culture. These days Tengu can be found in most states of Impesta

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

The languege of Tengu is an old language seldem used anymore (think latin). You do not learn it by default as a tengu, instead you learn an apropriate language based of your environment. 

Shared customary codes and values

The history of the Tengu tends to be a little bit of a sour spot, having mostly been lost to time and forgotten what is remembered makes it pretty clear that they wheren't verry succesfull. Because of this over the course of time they have abbandoned most if not all of there cultural heratige and instead joined various cultures and adopted there traditions.

Common Myths and Legends

The Tengu did have a panteon of old but it has since been mostly abandoned. Due to this the Tengo don't hold on to there own myths of legends.
