Strixus

Strixus is the name of the state and its capital. The capital Strixus resides on a small mountain in the middle of a swamp. For ages the Strix who lived on this mountain used this position to fly out, hunt and return. Any would be attackers would have to traverse a swamp and climb a mountain all the while being harrased by the flying Strix. A malignetn people taking pride in there supirority over other races due to there powers of flight the strix where devested when the first Tragodian emperor managed to do the imposible and succesfully conquer there mountain. Whilst under the heel of the empire resentenment grew and as soon as the age of judmgent came they took the opertunity to throw any remaining nobles off the mountain (litteraly) and proceded to quite easily defend there city agains the demon treath. They have even been known for raiding other villages and cities for supplies durring the age of judgment.
Now the city of Strixus is accesible to all with roads and stairs leading to the city but expect little aid for the flightless. Strix culture makes it so that if you can't reach a place due to your own abilities thats your problem. Despite the hostility of the Strix the city is still a quite popular destination due to the stunning sites and wealth the Strix have accumilated. Many rare birds and magical materials are found on the mountain and the skill of Strix crafstman is wainted across impesta.

The deadless harpies.  The powers of flight of the strix are quite usefull, in a scenario where an army has no archers they can easily be picked off and shot by a strix battalion. Due to this strix soldiers are seen as highly valuebale and there militairy might is feared. The most famed of all Strix units are the deadless harpies, an elite squad of strix fighters that have trained for the express purpose of not killing monster but rather enemy humanoids. They where increadibly feared durring the age of judgments for there raids and have since not diminished in strenght. Getting enough training by hunting bandits, smugglers and unlucky caravens finding themselves on the wrong side of Strixus law. The deadless harpies can also be bought for assignments by other impesta nations mostly for the harpies to get more intense combat scenarios. This however usualy leads to a one sided slaughter with no hostages or survivors so there seldem employed.
