The spite that remains originates from a continent across the sea. It's presence was brought along with the advent of humanity.
The spite that remains once ruled a vast empire as a so called ‘God king’ due to vast magical power at there disposal. Seeking to ascend there people to a perfect existence they sought eternal life not for themself but for all. In the end he managed to accomplish this with a grand ritual that turned all on the continent including themselves undead so they might ‘live’ forever. Satesfied with there accomplishment they had themselves entombed so a new generation could take over and he coukd be woken when needed. With an unclear understanding of the afterlife they ended up dying durring the entombment and coming face to face with Muran. Whilst the ruler haply explained there accomplishments it was only met with a stern gaze from Muran. After they listed all there grand accomplishments Muran exposed that by breaking the natural cycle of souls. Those whose souls escape the cycle are not granted an afterlife as punishment and for one that had taken so many souls from the cycle a worse punishment would await. Shocked the ruler asked what would happen with his people, Muran explained that when there souls would inevitebly appear to him he would doom them and rob them of the eternal cycle for there crime of subverting it. Becoming the bones trampled over in the boneyard. This ruler suffered an unknown but terrible faith but despite this his lingering spite combined with the grand power the ruler had in life led to an infinite existence akin to that of a God. The spite that remains now serves as a spiteful God granting its power to those that would exterminate the undead out of spite into being tricked to damn it's people.
