Lizardfolk

History

Not much is know about the origin of the Lizardfolk. Acording to there own oral history they came to Impesta one day after fleeying from there continent which was destroyed in a great catastrophe. They initialy arived in Atzul but they moved over to Impesta due to the climate. Having lost there old home they never felt at home in Impesta. There ways, they way they made houses, they way the collected food, they way they kept safe and warm, these where all alien to the contenent and had started to fade over there long journey. Due to this they never ended up settling down, instead roaming the fields of Impesta until eventualy joining with other tribes and creating the Ygorgi. Despite many years having passed most all lizardfolk still feel this allienation deep in there core. Even when born in isolation of there culture they have a strong sence of them not bellonging, or rather that things are not as they should be. Most lizardfolk feel at home only with the Ygorgi and even then only so much. Tho there are some who set out and live seperate from it they are quite rare.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

The Lizardfolk have there own languege back from there home, Iruxi. This is usualy the first languege they learn and not knowing it is heavily frowned upon. Besides this lanuge lizardfolk have trouble learning others. It's not uncommon for Lizardfolk to only partialy speak Tragodian, tho Ygorgi does come relativly easily.  LIZARDFOLK START THE GAME WITH YGORGI, IRUXI AND COMMON(partial), Aditional intelliegnce wil result in learng common first. this means you get extra languges starting at +2 inteligence.

Culture and cultural heritage

Unlike most the Lizardfolk are seldom religious. They had to abbandon there gods in the cataclisim that destroyed there old continent and after crossing the sea only scraps of memory of these gods remained. They however don't usualy feel for the gods of Troïka and usualy remain athiest a rather uncommen occurence for others in Troïka. Instead they follow a large amount of small and mayor rituals from there forgotten gods and culture.

Funerary and Memorial customs

The Lizardfolk have there own rather intricate funeral procedings. It involves long rituals and for others to stay in the grave performing them for an entire week. Acourding to those that perform the rituals they no longer know the origins or the meanings of the word they speak, or for what purpose the words are said. But they belive an altogether different afterlife waits for them, who what is unkown.
