King Bracken, King of all mountains
The legend goes he was the king of Black Steel Hold and the dragons went feral. He did not flinch in the face of this new threat and banded together uniting many of the holds in the fight against the dragons taking great advantage of their diminishing mental state to trick and trap them repeatedly. He many times heroically led the fights himself and even killed a dragon by himself when all other hope seemed lost.
What has granted him respect above all else is that at the end of his life after the death of most dragons he returned the crowns of the various holds as agreed upon long ago giving them back their sovereignty whilst many expected him to give the entire kingdom. And all the holds to his son but he stated “I might have achieved greatness in my life but is nothing compared to our ancestors who carved these halls out of the bare stone. I would not be able to face them if I where to go back on my oaths”
After his death Balin would be remembered and his lessons taught by many dwarves eventually moving him into myth and being worshiped as a God. It would be no understatement that he is seen as the greatest of all dwarven gods.
