Flesh mines

Outside of Norvin partially submerged in the cold water and mostly buried under the frozen soil lies the corpse of an unknown massive creature the full size of which has not been discovered, although it is speculated its about the size of a city. A mine has been constructed around and inside of this creature to harvest its regenerating flesh. This flesh is quite nutritious and appears to lead to slightly increased lifespans and a stronger immune system after long term consumption. There are other parts of this body that do have other side effects. There are also large portions of bad meat like what is assumed to be its organs. This meat overstimulates the body and has very detrimental side effects. Sections where this Bad meat resides are clearly marked to prevent accidental consumption



Brain. This region is always under high guard and scrutiny due to the drugs Enkephalin, Brain Blast and Bliss. 

 Enkephalin is a fluid found in the brain area coming out of and resting between the flesh there. It is an opioid that numbs pain as well as most physical senses and has a tendency to put users in a lethargic state. It is sometimes used as an effective pain suppressant but has a risk of addiction and is often sold on the black market

Brain Blast is a particular type of meat that has the effect when ingested to temporarily boost the intelligence of whomever uses it. Repeated consumption can keep the effect going but as soon as it supsides the user is put into a temporary coma.

Bliss is a very peculiar drug. Users describe taking Bliss as simply experiencing happiness in its purest form which is hard to describe. It can also be incredibly additive.

Bad meat. Most of the brain is bad meat, leading to seizures, memory loss, coma's and general brain damage.

History

When discovered on an expedition for food the body was initially frozen. When small parts of it where excavated out of ice it immediately started regenerating slowly out of the ice. Starving the expedition decided to try some of the meat and it tasted, surprisingly good actually. They then set out further into the snowy wasteland of Atzul and on there way home they came across there old camp again and found the part that they had eaten had not only regenerated but there was more of it than before. Not everyone was immediately comfortable with it but whatever it was it WAS a seemingly infinite source of food. Eventually they started to form a settlement close to this body for its meat and started to excavate more and more of it. Over the years it was discoverd that not only was the meat form this body nutritious it also seemed to slightly increase your general health if you ate it for long periods of time. The people in the settlement around it would live a couple years longer and generally get less sick. 
Eventually when the Tragodian empire arrived there where calls to see the massive body burned but after meditating on it and long discussions with his advisors it was decided the body would not be burned until it was properly studdies to see what harm it could bring to see if this was some infernal beast with corrupting flesh or a gift from the gods for the starved lands of Atzul. This lead to a much larger scale excavation of the body with routes leading to different parts of it to test its effects. The regular flesh was deemed harmless though other parts of the body where strictly regulated.
