Elves
Most elves come from different origins and have very different opinions with one unifying factor. They believe in the uniqueness of everyone, EXCEPT HUMANS, they believe they truly have nothing worthwhile going for them. The best way to describe this is not simply resentment but the belief that humans fundamentally will always consciously or not create the worst result due to their nature.

History
After the death of the first dragons there magic infused corpses started to fertilize the ground as nature and forest began to grow. Then from the forest came the elves. In their roots they were in tune with nature and the forest and grew into their own secluded communities not venturing out much outside of the forests. They eventually came into contact with the orc tribes that roamed the wastes. Whilst initial contact was mostly peaceful there was some immediate tension of the rather large amount of food and resources the elves possessed. Whilst some orcs joined to live with the elves most stayed in there tribes, not seeing the appeal in the elves sedentary and harmonious lifestyle. What did appeal to the orcs was simply taking the bounty and leaving. This wasn’t universal as a lot of orcs saw it as unfair and cheating in ‘The Great Game’. Despite this conflict did arise and most elves would pay a specific orc tribe with food, weapons, knowledge and a safe haven in exchange for protection. In ‘The Great Game’ this right was seen as something that would be fought over by those who played in the game outside of elven territories as to not disturb them. Through these wandering orc tribes the elves learned about the rest of the world as well as other colonies of their kind and some slowly got in touch via magical means.
Elves were in general very kind, forthcoming and sharing. The bounty of the forest were plenty so they were happy to share but it was also a dangerous place and they were always glad for help and appreciated different skill sets. The mindest of a lot of elves changed when Humans arrived.. When humans initially arrived the elves were cordial but their sheer numbers proved too much and they saw that it would inevitably lead to the degradation of their homes. So they stopped offering their food to the humans and eventually barred them from entering the forest. Then later the humans with sheer force in numbers displaced and or killed the elves taking the forest bounty for their own. This is not a one-of incident but rather something that repeated individually for almost all elven settlements. To this day it lives on in the myth: The tale of a lost forest. Due to this the elves came to the conclusion that humans where the one exception to their philosophy. Not giving anything, only taking away everything they held dear. Not even through their genius or skill but only through their numbers. Thus humans were considered the only ones not special, and as a net negative on the planet, like mosquitoes. This lead to the elves breeding in them a hatred for the humans displaced them, carried over through their long lifespans.
Elves that were displaced tried to seek refuges with other elven settlements or other non-humans, however some were forced to join human society doing so incredibly reluctantly and often carrying around a general disdain for there situation in life.
