Trait Descriptions
Beaten: You suffered much abuse at the hands of those who ‘raised’ you. A character with this trait is not staggered when at 0 hitpoints or when their nonleathal damage equals their current hit points total. Additionally they reduce all nonlethal damage received by 2.
Denied Birthright: You were denied something promised you by some circumstance of your birth, whether a position, title, or heirloom. This prompted great rage in you. A character with this trait can rage (as the barbarian class feature) for two rounds per day, though they are fatigued for three times as many rounds when ending a rage rather than twice as many. If the character gains class levels which offer either rage (as the barbarian feature) or raging song (as the skald class feature) then this trait instead offers two additional rounds of the class feature. If the character gains access to both, the class feature gained first receives the bonus rounds.
Forgotten: You were often forgotten and left out. Not always out of malice but out of extreme indifference. But it made you more self reliant, forcing you to teach yourself the skills you need. A character with this trait gains a +2 cultural bonus to any three skills of their choice and these skills are always class skills.
Hide Away: A character with this trait gains a +4 cultural bonus on stealth checks and stealth is always a class skill.
Malnourished: You have been deprived of food for much of your upbringing and it left you in poor health though well practiced at stealing scraps when you could. A character with this trait gains a +2 cultural bonus on stealth, sleight of hand, and bluff checks but suffers a -2 penalty to fortitude saving throws.
Punching Bag: Used to being the target of violence on a regular basis has made you adept at avoiding harm: A character with this trait gains a +1 dodge bonus to AC and CMD. if the character is ever flat-footed or denied their dexterity they lose this bonus.
Scorned: A character with this trait gains a +2 cultural bonus on saves vs fear affects and the DC to intimidate you is increased by 2
Torturous Abuse: You suffered much abuse in mental and physical ways. +1 cultural bonus on all saves.
Vengeful: your upbringing at the hands of those who treated you poorly left you eager to respond in kind to any slight against you. A character with this trait gains a +1 cultural bonus on attack and damage rolls against a creature who has damaged the character within the last round. This bonus does not stack with itself but can be in effect for multiple creatures at once.
