Narayana Family
The Narayana family rose to prominence during the early days of Port Hawe, capitalizing on the flood of coin brought in by the town’s growing vices. Since then the family has amassed a great deal of influence placing their members as advisers and courtesans help to steer the development of the port city. Over time, the family has evolved, with their emphasis shifting from vice to influence and prestige. They present an image of civility and control though rumors abound of bitter internal strife.
The family still has ties in various ventures, such as high-class brothels and other establishments of vice, but many would call them professional socialites and mediators. They work to ensure the city runs smoothly and to ensure the streets remain free from excessive bloodshed. Their most significant influence is in the political realm, where they act as advisors, using their wisdom and keen sense of timing to navigate the ever-changing tides of power in Port Hawe.
Despite their outwardly serene demeanor, the Narayanas are both revered and despised. The poor view them as elitist and aloof, while the upper class regards them as the pinnacle of high society.
