Fictive Worlds

Fact or Fiction?

Ahab-1 was the first of the so-called "fictive" worlds, where things that were mere stories on Baseline are fact, or close enough. (Wells-1 being the most actively explored of these.) The precise meaning of 'fictive' is open to debate. BREACH formally limits it worlds where events paralleling a specific, identifiable work widely accepted to be fiction on Baseline verifiably happened, with a high degree of fidelity in detail, not just general outline. Discovering records of a swashbuckler rescuing French nobles from the guillotine isn't enough; there must also be records of Sir Percy Blakeney, married to Marguerite St. Just, etc., or sufficiently close to be beyond coincidence.
