Braythe: shattered realities The final war

The final war

Military action

3195-3196

The mad Zathruax fought Myrzakliaz not just for power - he wanted to kill and consume the other deity. Realizing he was fighting for his survival, Myrzakliaz became utterly ruthless, not caring about the destruction he left in the world.   The last mortal heroes made their final stand - but their success wasn't enough to save their home.

With his new-found powers, Zathruax flew into battle against all followers of his rival. Killing millions and diminishing the other dragon god's power that way, his opponent Myrzakliaz realized he was in severe danger.   As Myrzakliaz avoided a direct conflict with Zathruax for months while gathering information and working on schemes, the war took its toll on the mortals. Entire nations were destroyed, but not all was lost yet. A group of heroes, led by the human wizard Charryn, seeked to break the barrier that kept the other gods out.   At the same time, driven by the madness of Narac, Zathruax searched for the Ember of Creation - said to be the very first piece of Virthys that came into existence. With this, he wanted to gain complete control over the world, even if the other gods returned.   On the final day of Virthys, Myrzakliaz faced Zathruax, knowing he would stand no chance if the mad god ever gained control of the Ember of Creation. While they battled in the sky, Charryn and his companions succeeded in a ritual that broke the barrier to the divine realms.   The gods returned to a devastated world, and tried to stop the dragon gods. Venesha, one of the creator gods of Virthys, faced Zathruax in a fierce battle - and lost. The mad dragon god not only killed the goddess Venesha, but consumed her essence - and gained her knowledge about the Ember of Creation.   Myrzakliaz took the chance to flee back to his divine realm, giving up on Virthys. Just a few days later, Zathruax succeeded in bringing the Ember into his possession. But furious from all his fights and driven into insanity by Narac, the dragon god didn't use the divine artifact strategically. Instead, he went into a rampage, tearing the world itself apart.
