The dimensional tear was closed. But the trouble only began.

Short after the council of gods made their decision, they worked together to close the dimensional tear forever. What they didn't expect was that Zathruax and Myrzakliaz, the two dragon gods, had made plans of their own.   Not only did they not return to their divine realms, they used their powers to secretly magnify the actions of the other deities. So when the tear closed, the divine conduits vanishing, the connection to the afterlife was entirely sealed off, too. And suddenly, the two dragon gods were the only deities left in the world.   While clerics and other divine servants could still access their powers, the souls of the dead could not pass on for many months. Divine interventions were impossible, except by the two remaining dragon gods. The historians of Ashandri later called this a foreshadowing of things to come - refering to the first five days in the new world, and the creation of the Unbound Spirits.
