Bold Beetle's Helmet

The source of Bold Beetle' powers.
The original Bold Beetle, Brandon Barlow, found a crashed ship belonging to an alien prince who fled after his fleet was defeated in the Alien Event. After rescuing the prince from the broken wreck, the prince gave him his helmet, now useless to him, but would hold power for anyone worthy of it. All Brandon had to do was don the helmet and he would become a superhero.
When worn, the helmet confers specific powers. Bold Beetle has super strength, able to lift or throw heavy objects, super toughness, able to shrug off punches or bullets, and flight, by a pair of insectoid wings in his back. When worn the helmet also changes the appearance of the wearer, their body time and clothes. These powers and appearance changes are lost when the helmet are removed.
After the original Bold Beetle disappeared, he left the helmet at the home of his girlfriend, Claire Cole, for unknown reasons. On a whim she tried the helmet on and found that it worked on her, giving her the appearance, voice, and powers of Bold Beetle. This was when she decided to impersonate him until he returned, hoping to preserve his reputation.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Like the rest of the Alien Technology, humans have yet to understand how it works, what powers it, or how to harness it. Claire was surprised when it worked for her, as she had no reason before to believe it would.
