Elric Lightgrass

Elric Lightgrass

Elric grew up in a small town with a happy and healthy upbringing. He was very vocal, friendly and involved in his community forming a small folk singer band with his friends and his brother Perrin.   His family were always distant and refused to talk about his grandfather saying he abandoned his wife and child long ago (approx 60 years ago)   One day stumbling around his grandmother's house Elric found a secret room containing a set of chain armour and other equipment belonging to his grandfather, Corby. He was an adventurer, a Paladin dedicated to the gods of Halflings. Upon discovering these items and the oaths his grandfather dedicated himself to Elric decided he would take up these items and discover what truly happened to his grandfather.   He moved to Eutoh following a trail his grandfather left and had been living there for a year before being selected to serve.

The cave of Whispers

We found a cave with a glary beast and my grandfather who left after a drought to find answers to save the family. He sacrificed "seeing his family for the rest of his life" and was blinded, he guards the cave and cannot leave.   Grandfather gave a full journal to pass on to our family.   The entity told us we can trade someone to his post or teach it how to find illithids to get him back. It gave us some information based on hoping to pin us against illithids at no cost to it.

Eutoh again

We went back to Eutoh and we've had a promotion now we're inquisitors and we get nice new digs and supplies. We're thinking of dropping young Max off with the monks that Falinor came from. We'll be checking them out shortly. Hopefully it's all good and he likes it.   We've been allowed to requision some supplies so I've decided to try my hand at some cooking. I'll give mum's old recipes a crack and hopefully everyone likes them.

The brain thing

So we went out to where the birdthing told us to go and something attacked my brain and I don't know what happened for the rest but apparently some little brain monsters and a bigger one called a Mind Flayer killed a lot of the prime heirs guards and made off with him. Our birdfriend also died sadly.   We managed to save our boss though and we've made back for the Eutoh to tell the prime the bad news. We told these posh wizard guys about the mindflayer and they weren't too happy.

The other dwarf!

So we met this other dwarf at the pub, nice fella! Agnu if I've remembered right. So he's a champion for the arena and my friends and I think there's a conspiracy there to harm the prime heir so we're going to join his team and fight to try and win it. That way we'll be close in case something goes wrong.   Oh and I ate a weird mushroom. Not the weird kind that Perrin, Merric and I would eat out in the woods. This was freaky different! I appeared near this lovely pond, good place for fishing. Annoyingly without my rod! Anywho... there was this gorgeous halfling lass, a bit rude though. She told me I wasn't meant to be there and I snapped back to the pub.   We've head off out to where the prime heir is on the road as our new birdfriend warned us something was coming for him. So I'm hoping I can show my friends that I'm tough and they can rely on me to help in a fight, even though I usually hang about near the back yelling encouragement.

The undead man and the bird

So we went to visit the undead man... creepy bugger and dropped off the face and the magic artifact and we've got Max back now. He said to Olin that he's probably going to call on him again. We then had Flick take Max back to the inn to have a good rest while the rest of us visited my friend Eldar over in the tower. We had some sandwiches and were told that the bird, Echo, the line manager of the cat visited him an hour ago.   We managed to find it on the roof of the Sunspire and drag it inside and have a chat with it. It says the Court of whispers isn't all bad and that the cat was a rogue agent. They said that they intend to kidnap the prime to keep them safe then release them when the danger passes. They said that the Court is all independant splinter groups that sometimes do bad and sometimes good. For now I'd say we've got ourselves a friend, we're going to meet him at the library at 5 or 7 (if we miss him at 5).   Fenrick also has a hunch that the dwarf combatant is a ringer for the coliseum bout. He wants to beat him up and replace him. Doesn't sound a good idea to me. Feels a bit uncessary too to beat him up. Doesn't sit right with me. I've tried to talk him round differently but if he does it then it's his fault.

The Sewers

So we went into the sewers after this person Olin is supposed to murder. Firstly we stumbled into a vine monster made of corpses. Horrible stuff! We hacked and hacked and it made a few littler ones until Olin set this blobby heart thing it had on fire.   Then we found a weird snail thing that grabbed Flick! So I ran after him trying to help and we got into a fight with this thing. It went and hid around a corner as we put up a strong fight to save our friend. It felt cruel to pick on the poor monster, although I wasn't about to let it kill my friend! So we legged it and went up a ladder through a stone trapdoor that Fenrick punched to bits and into a bakers basement. We figured well... The baker won't mind if we just sit and rest for a hot minute. So we took a quick rest then ran past the snail although Fenrick made quick work of it when it started to attack us. Stupid thing! If it'd left us alone it wouldn't have had to have died.   We found this person who Olin was meant to kill and we've hatched a plan to pretend we did it with some rather gruesome evidence then noone has to die! Now just to prove it to the zombie man.

The abducted boy, the murder plot

So we got back to the pub and the little lad Max had been abducted because my friend Olin was aparantly a murderer. But a murderer that didn't murder who he was supposed to murder so that person was still alive. We had to go around the city for quite a while and found that the murderer lot that Olin used to be in with had abducted Max and wanted us to murder the person that Olin was supposed to murder but didn't actually murder. He then threatened to murder us and our families if we didn't do it.   Now I'm not looking forward to being anywhere near such a creepy man as this again if we have to. Hale told me aparantly he was undead. I just thought he needed some eye drops. Now the idea of undead in anyway shape or form gives me the ick, I don't want to be anywhere near them. Now I don't know if that's racist at all but I've never met a zombie but I've only heard bad things.... Oh maybe I am Zombieist.... I'll have to work on that.   I said to him. I'll not murder anyone, Olin will have to do it. I'll just make sure that Olin doesn't die before he can do it. Now I know this might seem slightly evil still letting a guy get murdered, but if we don't then Max will get murdered and I can't be having that. He's a good lad, we ought to do right by him.

Friend's in town

So. Olin and I went to the flowerspire and had a chat with Eldar Swifthand. Lovely chap, he's a good sort I'll have to ask about his family next time. We had tea and sandwiches and discussed Twinspire and overall we think we have a good idea of what to do to keep the place safe. I'm going to see him again tomorrow.   Now I've been doing some research too. We adopted this young lad, Max. He's a good kid, helpful sort. Now he's got some kind of infernal devilsword called Limbrender that's certainly not good for him. So we'll have to sort out a way to get that off him that keeps him healthy too.

It went well until it didn't

Well we caught the cat, Blood on the Whiskers. I did some good nice magic to get her talking, we found out that a cult of ne'er do wells is operating from a cave south of Fan Ryn. Echo, BOTW line manager, has ran over there to come up with a new plan as we made a mess of their last one. Then she spoke in tongues and died so... that was when it stopped going well.   Max, an orphan we adopted, has some kind of sentient blade that makes him ill when he's apart from it. We think we're going to train him to be strong so he can make do without it if needed. Hale's taken charge of the sword aspect of it all. I think I'll start him doing a bit of sword training and strength training in the mornings, then in the evening I'll teach him to make friends and talk his way out of trouble if he needs it. Now just to find the time, trying to be helpful makes you very busy doesn't it.   We read a book that my friends were convinced was cursed... and I died, and a great big demon came into being and ate Twinspire, then pissed gravy down the river and the peoples to the south were cursed and became magpies that shit rainbows. No, not really. They were being very dramatic! It was just a book written in some language I couldn't read. They made a big deal out of nothing.   I think we're going to split up and Olin and I are going to do some reading and chatting with smarter people and see if they've got anything good to go off. Fenrick and Hale are going to volunteer as gladiators and healers. Falinor and Flick are going to be sneaky and speak with some different ne'er do wells... you know the sort where they're just a bit bad. Not 'bad bad'.

The problems in town

So when we arrived in town we heard a few things. Namely that some kind of cat-woman with one eye made a bit of a mess in the market and that the poor fellow who used to own the butchers stall has had to shut up shop since. I've spoke to the dwarf and he's feeling a bit down on himself... maybe I'll have to do something nice for him to cheer him up.   So there's also this stone gargoyle problem and there's a bloody pool beneath one of the churches.. I thought it was beetroot urine at first but no. Some people! Making a blood pool beneath a church, you wouldn't hear of it back in Arnock.   There's also a band. Not a musical band. A group of very bad lads. Marauders, the dwarf, in charge of mercenary work in town, called them. They've been causing a spot of bother on the road so we're going to sort them out too.   Oh I almost forgot! We caught that cat. We're going to get them set up somewhere and ask a few questions. I'm sure a few gentle words will get them talking.

The Monster on the Road

We spent some time on the road recently and encountered some kind of large monster. It was a tough fight but we've made the roads safer for the people. I feel that we should all be very proud.

The Pub & the Arena

I'm having a great time as a guard, I feel like I've already become a firm friend to most of my comrades.   It was a bit rough on my first quest though, I won't tell a lie. The sight of mutilated bodies took me aback... I didn't think of the more dangerous parts of the world and adventuring.   Luckily my friend's helped me find my feet again, and we pushed on through.
