Weaver's Veil

The Weaver's Veil is the term used mostly by sailors to describe the remnants of a powerful spell cast by Ninol to protect the The Midlands. This time was known as The Withdrawal  At one time, the Veil surrounded the entire island, but since Ninol's death, has slowly begun to dissipate. The Veil now only remains on the southern half of the continent, but it is still extremely difficult and sometimes even deadly to attempt passing through. Ships that have entered the Veil, most often by accident, claim to sail for days, only to wind up close to where they entered the veil, pointing the opposite direction. Some ships have entered the Veil have never been seen since. Because the Midlands are accessible on the northern side, most ships simply sail around to the port of Mospriseson, which has become a bustling port in the days since the Midlands reconnected with the world.

Manifestation

The Veil appears as heavy, heavy mist over the ocean. Some sailors have said they could hear faint whispering and even figures in the mist.

Localization

The Veil appears on the southern coast of the Midlands, curving around the continent both east and west. It tapers off and is not present in the northern half.
