Laser highway

A vast expanse of space connecting two points, generally two stars or star systems. Ships are propelled on the highway by lasers, first and most powerful of which is usually located in the close orbit around the star and then by fusion powered lasers mounted on space stations evenly distributed along the way, most often at a light week distance of each other. These lasers are highly ultraviolet to counteract red-shift caused by the acceleration and shot to a huge Solar / Laser sail mounted on the ship. This way ships can move at up to 99% of the speed of light. First ever built is the Blue Way.
