Kerberos Character in Blood Well | World Anvil

Kerberos

Do not protest your innocence before me. I smell the blood of others upon your breath... Vampire.

A figure of ancient mythos, the Kerberos guards the Khthonika Gate for all eternity. Collared and shackled in bonds of pristine Stygian Ice, hear him howl in anguish at the injustice of his imprisonment. His mournful cries carrying far and wide upon the fell winds of this cursed realm.

Great Hound of the Dead

One of the great Titans of the Dawn Aeon, Kerberos towers over the other souls of the land. Rough, dense fur covers his bestial, canid body, a dark purple in colour akin to a moonless midnight sky, while a sinuous, serpentine tail trails and coils behind him, its hard scutes glistening with the same oily iridescence as the Styx. A triumvirate of snarling lupine heads are held high and proud, even as he casts his baleful gaze on any approaching soul with eyes of glowing molten bronze.

Prisoner and Master

Bonds of Stygian Ice keep the great beast leashed on the terrace in front of the ancient Khthonica Gate that he was charged with guarding many Aeons ago. His chains keep him imprisoned even as the terrace upon which he resides crumbles to ruin around him.   Despite his imprisonment, Kerberos has become the master of the realm around him through sheer force of presence. His will shapes and moulds the layered terraces of the hanging Khthonika Gardens that immediately surround the gate terrace, sculpting them into a wild, green place where his own youthful memories meld with fantasies of freedom.
