The Academy

The Academy, sometimes called the Academy of Haranos, was a mighty city and capital of Seermar. It had the largest population of ascendals in the world, with more living in the Academy than the rest of the world combined. The city began its life as a centre of magical education, but due to the populations that it attracted over the centuries a city and a civilisation were formed around it. While not founded by Haranos the Wise, it came to be closely associated with him due to his extraordinarily long tenure as the head scholar.
The Academy epitomised all that Seermar and the ascendals stood for; education and the pursuit of knowledge. The scholars of the academy not only played a role in the teaching provided but also acted as the leaders of Seermar, with the head scholar acting as head of the state.
