Aether Aramanth
Prince Aether Aramanth
Prince Aether Aramanth was a prince and heir of Ralitae, an elven domain during the 1st millennium BTD. During his lifetime, his kingdom fell to Karakar in the War for the Light and his family were slaughtered. In the following years, he fought to defeat the Black Queen as an exile and then began attempts to reclaim his kingdom. The latter proved futile, and he died in the attempt in 121 ATD.

Personal history
Born to King Leysar and Queen Profoliel of Ralitae, Aether enjoyed a very comfortable childhood and early adulthood. He was the third born son and fourth born overall, having two older brothers, an older sister, and four younger sisters. His relations with them were all surprisingly cordial throughout their lives, and he never harboured resentment towards his older brothers who stood to inherit more. Indeed, he pledged to serve both his father and upon his death his older brother as a prince of the realm and nothing more.
Everything changed, however, when Karakar began to amass their armies on the border of the elven realms. No one could have foreseen an attack on the scale that occurred, and the initial cities and kingdoms were taken by surprise. Ralitae avoided the initial carnage due to not being on the Karakan border, but they simply couldn't amass an army strong enough to repel the threat. The capital of Phelistith was stormed by orcs and monsters. King Leysar and his two oldest sons died on the steps of the the throne room, while Queen Profoliel and all five of her daughters were beaten to death in their palace. Aether fought bravely alongside his father and brothers, but was thrown from a tower as it collapsed. Miraculously, he survived the fall but lost consciousness. Upon awakening, he witnessed the devastation delivered by the Karakans, who had now deserted the city for the next settlement. The kingdom had fallen.
Aether first fled to the lands of his fellow elves to the south. However, the kingdom of Riverspring, while offering him a place at court, refused to aid him in reclaiming Ralitae. As such, he left. In Seermar and Hastameer, the ascendals were preparing for the Karakans riding south and could spare no men. The dwarves had their own problems and had never been on good terms with elves, so Aether passed them by. The halflings and gnomes of Marian could offer little assistance, so he turned to Tembra. Humanity, while useful at times, was unpredictable and lacked perspective. Only the mightiest races could satisfy Aether's need for vengeance, so he sought out the dragons. With little information as to any dragon's whereabouts, he eventually tracked down Vikrakar the Proud in the Wastes of Kiros, who promptly captured him intending to eat him.
