Twilight's Regent

In life, Nalmeran was unremarkable at best, carving out a lonely existence in the mountains bordering Ibuhess and Crucible. If he had never encountered Mandrassile, the name Nalmeran would be remembered in a far different, dimmer light. Perhaps the same would be true for his master, for the two of them have carved a long path of death and destruction throughout all of Imbelek in pursuit of the Great Twilight.

Appearance

Nalmeran is a bulky quadrupedal dragon with a short neck and four wings. In life, he once had vibrant red scales, which have now turned black and rotten in his undead existence. The magic that has reanimated the dragon gives him a purple glow that shines through the holes in his body. His body rots in its undead existence, though Mandrassile's power quickly repairs any damage he sustains, forever binding his existence to his master's will.

Abilities

In life, Nalmeran unleashed torrents of fire upon all who dared enter his domain; in death, those fires have taken on a ghostly hue and damn his victims into Mandrassile's service. All who die within the vicinity are instantly resurrected by the radiating necromantic energy from Nalmeran. Mandrassile's spell on Nalmeran also regenerates his body from rot and damage, Making him nearly unkillable as long as Fikile is alive and maintains the spell to control him.

Ascension Under the Twilight Crown

In the late First Era, the name Nalmeran was a part of local tales of an ancient dragon who roamed above the Meranus mountains. Some tales said he was a greedy creature who hoarded wealth in a hidden cave and defended it violently from thieves. Other tales claim he was a wise, gentle creature who shared his wisdom with travelers he encountered.   The truth, however, was far less grand.   Nalmeran was a Greater Dragon of little renown, living in a hidden cave on the border between Ibuhess and Crucible. He rarely left his roost, only coming out to hunt for food and lookout for threats. His isolation was self-imposed, and he seemed content to live his life in peace. He was quite forgiving to intruders, at least compared to other dragons, though he wouldn't hesitate to incinerate them alive if he felt the need to.   Things changed for the worse, however, when Mandrassile caught wind of him living in the mountains. Mandrassile had many plans for the hermit dragon, who would make for a powerful servant once under her control. The necromancer hunted him down and fought him within his cavern home. The cornered dragon unleashed the hottest fires he could upon her, and she treated it like mere candlelight. Mandrassile killed the cornered dragon and conducted a powerful reanimation spell that resurrected the fallen dragon under her command.   With Nalmeran under her control, Mandrassile began her quest to bring about the New Dawn, a grand event that would reshape the world to under her will and make Nostrina her own Acendant Realm.
Classification: Greater Dragon   Threat Assessment: The danger posed by Nalmeran is based on the danger of his master, the necromancer Mandrassile. This dragon is completely subservient to her will, killing and destroying on her command. Reports show that this dragon turns all who die within his vicinity into undead thralls under his master's control. Worse still, Nalmeran seems to regenerate any damage to his body, making him nearly impossible to kill as long as Mandrassile lives. This dragon and his master pose an extreme threat that must be eliminated at all costs. All agents are advised to avoid the dragon and focus on Mandrassile herself, for killing her should undo the spell keeping Nalmeran alive.
