Guiding Hand

In the mountains of Yeranzar and Diorung, the Order of Korratai hones their bodies and minds. These monks aim to create the perfect version of themselves, one of many steps on the path to Durasuun. Their mentor along this path is the order's namesake, the ancient Dragonlord Korratai.

Appearance

Dragonlord Korratai is a brilliant white and red dragon with a long, slender body, two long arms, and two smaller legs that he stands on. His wings are massive and brilliant, pulsing with beautiful magical light. His followers wear white and red robes to symbolize their loyalty and devotion to Korratai's teachings.

Abilities

Korratai has a yet-to-be-matched mastery of magic that he only sparing chooses to use. Disciples who have proved themselves in the eyes of Korratai are gifted enchanted artifacts of great power as a reward for their dedication and progress on the path to Durasuun. The full extent of his abilities is unknown, though the fact that he was once one of the six Dragonlords that ruled over northeastern Glakora in the Ancestral Era is enough of an indicator of his might.

The Last Dragonlord

Korratai is the last living member of the six Dragonlords that once ruled over northeastern Glakora. Ruling over what is now eastern Diorung and Zaparodka, Korratai is said to have been a lord who ruled through strict adherence to law and instilled a great sense of discipline in his forces. Those that deviated from his decrees were swiftly extinguished to be made an example to his subjects. Korratai's domain was always under threat from his two closest rivals, Zur Mirgan to the north and Sekrasen to the south.    Warfare plagued these lands for many centuries as the Dragonlords used their human subjects to fight for the dragon's gain. The dragons had a stranglehold on all aspects of life in the region until the march of Duan Zhenya in 3591 AE. Duan's armies marched on the lands of the Dragonlords and unraveled their hold on the land. Through military might and planting the seeds of revolt among their subjects, Duan destroyed the Dragonlord's kingdoms from within and unified the land under his cause. After the fall of Sekrasen, Korratai elected to join Duan's army under the condition that he may still rule his lands under Duan's lordship.    With Korratai on his side, the rest of the Dragonlords' end was nigh. By 3597 AE, Korratai was the last of the dragons left standing. Under Duan's rule, Korratai proved to be a valuable ally in securing Duan's place as the ruler of the newly founded Zhenya Empire. Even after Duan's death in 3624 AE, Korratai upheld his end of the deal and guided the succeeding Zhenya emperors until the empire's collapse in 3961 AE. When the empire collapsed, Korratai choose to let the humans rule for themselves, taking with him only his most loyal followers. The lands he once ruled have since mostly adapted the ways of Diorung and Yerenzar, though vestiges of the old culture still remain.   Free from his responsibilities as a lord over man, Korratai began the process of finding Durasuun, a mystical state of mind when one becomes in tune with the very universe itself. In time, the Order of Korratai was founded by his loyal followers, who seek to join the dragon in his search. The order has chosen to isolate themselves from the world that would stray them from their path, never involving themselves in the politics of the modern world.

Path to Durasuun

The Order of Korratai seeks all who show great potential to join them on their path to achieving Durasuun. Monks of the order live by strict codes to instill a great sense of discipline in their members. Only through rigorous discipline and training can one hone their mind and achieve peak physique, just one of many steps on the path. Monks of the order are not only skilled in martial combat, with many of them also being highly skilled in the use of magic. Highly esteemed disciples who have proven themselves to Korratai are sometimes granted powerful enchanted artifacts created by the old Dragonlord himself. Being chosen to join the order is seen as a great honor among the people of Diorung and Yerenzar, many of whom join as children to one day achieve Durasuun.
Threat Assessment
Korratai's order scattered across the mountains of northeastern Glakora has proven to be a non-threat to those living close to them. However, the Monitors are dubious on the power both on display and hidden from public sight that they hold over the surrounding people. Furthermore, Korratai's history in the region, being the last of the Dragonlords that once ruled over the region, shows his goals and methods are not always for the betterment of all. This organization and their leader must be carefully observed to prevent a potential calamity.
