From Troublemaker to Tyrant
Born 177 2E on the island of Marastrix, Castix's early life was fairly ordinary for a Varaki citizen of Rass Marastrix. However, even as a hatching, Castix was an unruly child. He frequently got himself into trouble with both his caretakers and authorities. Despite numerous attempts to put him in line, Castix always rebelled against the system that he lived under, wishing to live his life as he wanted, rules be damned. Castix would face the music from all his troublemaking when he was 13. While attempting to flee from guards after burglarizing a Rass Marastrix official's home, Castix fought with one of the guards chasing him. Castix would eventually kill them but was soon caught afterward. Faced with the decision of jailing or exiling him from Marastrix under the custom of Sivinas, the judge chose to banish him from his homeland with the Exile's mark on his horns. After his exile, Castix was quickly taken in by members of Rass Sivina in the city of Loin Port. For once in his life, he found Varaki who shared a similar outlook on the rules and laws of Marastrix. Eager to prove himself to the gang, Castix became a deadly and efficient criminal who got things done quickly, and often brutally. Five years into his time with Rass Sivina in Loin Port, the city guard came after Castix's gang, taking out many of his gangmates, including his leader, and forcing them to flee the city. Castix took control of his crew and headed to the city of Saint Alenis to the west, looking to start fresh there. His crew would link up with another Rass Sivina gang within the city under the leadership of Korvax was the the gang's oldest member. During his tenure under Korvax, Castix began to fall in love with Korvax's adopted daughter Eramaz, forming a deadly pair whose names reached across all of Rass Sivina. Only a year into his time in Saint Alenis, Korvax's life would finally be claimed by a chronic illness that she had been battling in secret for years. Before her death, she would name Castix and Eramaz as the new leaders of her gang, but unbeknownst to her or anyone else, her successors had far grander ambitions. Since the inception of Rass Sivina, the clan has been nothing more than a loosely connected group of gangs scattered across New Brauven. In Castix and Eramaz's eyes, the clan of exiles had yet to reach their true potential, one that could only be achieved if all of Rass Sivina were united under one leader. From their hideout in Saint Alenis, Castix and Eramaz brought the gangs of New Brauven to heel with a combination of violence, subterfuge, and blackmail until every member recognized them as the twin leaders of Rass Sivina. By 201 2E, all the gangs in New Brauven were under the leadership of Castix and Eramaz. Before the ascension of Castix, Rass Sivina competed with many rival gangs across New Brauven. Once in power, all current and potential rivals of Castix were brought to heel. If they did not submit to Rass Sivina, they would be granted a swift death. Those still alive must abide by Castix's rules, or face his wrath. For all intents and purposes, Castix and Eramaz are the undisputed king and queen of New Brauven's criminal underworld, and none have yet to challenge them.
